v-locker wins the German Ecodesign Award 2022!

We are proud and very happy that the Smart Bike Parking System v-locker has been awarded the Federal Ecodesign Prize 2022! Together with Jens Kirchhoff, the CEO of v-locker, Wolfgang K. Meyer-Hayoz accepted the award at the ceremony in Berlin. 

The prize is the highest state award for ecological design in Germany and is awarded annually in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the Federal Environment Agency and the International Design Centre Berlin IDZ.

HemoSystem in the Red Dot Spotlight

We are especially honoured that the HemoSystem, which we had the pleasure of designing for hemotune, has been published in the Red Dot Spotlight. Alongside Philips and FUJIFILM, hemotune is featured as a company whose outstanding developments in the medtech sector were recognised with a Red Dot Award this year.

We are very pleased that the smart bike parking system v-locker has been nominated for this year’s German Ecodesign Award and we keep our fingers crossed for an award! 

The prize is the highest state award for ecological design in Germany and has been granted annually since 2012 by the Federal Ministry for the Environment and the German Environment Agency in cooperation with the International Design Center Berlin. 

More than one reason to celebrate!

hemotune has come an impressive way to date. The company has already received numerous awards for its groundbreaking system, most recently the coveted Red Dot Award: Design Concept from Singapore 2022. Today hemotune celebrates its 5th anniversary – enough reasons to celebrate what has been achieved!

Therapy (almost) under weightlessness

We are pleased to be able to publish an exciting new product development in the medtech sector, for which we were able to develop the product design. 

Motio is a smart, sensor-supported carrying system for the efficient mobilization of neurological patients and people with physical disabilities. The finely adjustable weight relief enables physiotherapy under almost weightlessness.

Red Dot Design Award

Design for B. Braun Avitum

Medical design carries a huge responsibility, as we are developing products people worldwide will have to interact with every day and which literally can save lives. Particularly in the medical industry, design means more than just a «nice shape»: it helps to reduce the technical complexity of the devices, to explain their functionality and to ensure simple, safe and intuitive handling.

We are very delighted that many of the products we have developed in the past in close cooperation with our clients remain successful on the market for many years. This also applies to our developments for B. Braun Avitum, which we present in a new project on our website.

Designed, made and offered in Winterthur.

We are very happy that Además has included our design tomorrow for Stewi in his range. The unique concept store in the heart of Winterthur’s old town stocks carefully selected design items for everything to do with living. With Además, Stewi and us, three traditional companies from Winterthur have found each other.

In the first few days, the tomorrow range has already had a very successful start and generated enthusiastic feedback. We thank Felix Wittmer and his team for their commitment and support of local design and local products and wish them continued good business.

Bike smart park grid

The «Bike-Smartpark-Grid» continues to pick up speed: Shortly after the system went into operation at the Stettbach train station (see photo), another fully automated Bike Tower was installed at the Kloten train station. Thanks to a closely linked network of bicycle park towers, the greater Zurich area is gradually being opened up to cyclists and commuters.

We are proud to have helped shape this future-oriented mobility concept as a design partner at various levels since V-Locker AG was founded. We are convinced that in this way we are making an important contribution to the digitally networked infrastructure of sustainable means of transport such as bicycles and trains.

Winner of Red Dot Award: Luminary

The Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2021 recently reached its climax with the presentation of the Red Dot: Luminary. This prize is the highest level of recognition accorded at this specific award. It is selected among the best of the best winners and serves as an inspiration to aspire towards. Wolfgang Meyer-Hayoz, member of the jury, had the great honour to announce the winner: .lumen – Glasses for the Blind.

All of the award-winning design concepts are published on the Red Dot Design Yearbook for Design Concept 2021/2022 and online at www.red-dot.org. From April 2022 the winners will also be exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore overlooking the waterfront promenade along Singapore’s Marina Bay.

Recently the Top 100 Swiss Startups were awarded in Zurich. We are very pleased to see two of our clients among the best and most valuable Swiss start-up companies. 9T Labs even made it to the podium. The dynamic team surrounding CEO Martin Eichenhofer (photo) impressed the jury with its Red Series development. Hemotune was also honoured for its innovative magnetic blood purification technology. We are very much looking forward to the further collaboration with these two promising companies and building a better future with them.

We are very pleased that our design tomorrow has recently been made launched by the traditional brand Stewi. The cooperation with and for our «Winterthur neighbours» has resulted in a completely new product series for the sorting, drying and hanging up of laundry. Three «sisters» with unmistakeable commonalities: high-quality, elegant and practical.

The new design language is aimed deliberately at an extended target group with an affinity for design and at everyone who wishes to let their precious laundry items be taken good care of. To start with, there are three different products, each in black or white.

It is our philosophy to support our clients comprehensively in design questions.

Societal and technological changes influence design work worldwide. Based on many years of design experience and the analysis of such topics, we have accordingly set strategic focuses and parallel to this have further developed our competences.

In order to communicate this congruently in the market, we have adapted our appearance to the new contents.

Website in a New Design.

Design is not an an end in itself. It orientates itself on defined requirements and communication objectives. This is valid also for our website.

The minimalist design concept offers us a flexible projection screen onto which we can present selected content. Many thanks to our partner indyaner media for the professional programming of our design templates.

The red square throughout the website is is a recurrent design motif. This opens the menu which quickly takes you to the new, exciting content. We hope you enjoy it.
